| What is On the Job Training? |
It is the obligation and responsibility of supervisors and managers to train, qualify, and develop their work force through the use of Job Aids, Structured OJT, Workshops and Software.
On-the-job training (OJT) is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's work site. OJT is generally the primary method used for sharpening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is especially appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee's job - particularly jobs that are relatively easy to learn and require locally-owned equipment and facilities.

| What are job aids? |
| So what is a job aid anyway? A Handbook of Job Aids, Rossett and Gautier-Downes (1991), defines job aid as "a repository for information, processes, or perspectives that is external to the individual and that supports work and activity by directing, guiding, and enlightening performance." In simpler terms, job aids contain information we choose not to remember; information that we can refer to when the need arises. As organizations of the future realize the escalating costs of training and development, the role of job aids will grow in importance.
